CIRCULAR FLOWS: The Toilet Revolution!
With the project CIRCULAR FLOWS: The Toilet Revolution!, commissioned and curated by the MAK, EOOS presented the official Austrian contribution at the XXII. Triennale in Milan in 2019, which raised pivotal questions regarding the condition and repair of our planet under the title of Broken Nature. Design Takes on Human Survival. The contribution was awarded the “Ape Nera,” the “Black Bee Award” of the Triennale, as one of the best national contributions.

CLIMATE CHANGE! From Mass Consumption to a Sustainable Quality Society
The exhibition project CLIMATE CHANGE! shows the importance of transformation design for a necessary turnaround of climate change. Five design installations of the well-known Viennese design studio EOOS (Martin Bergmann, Gernot Bohmann, and Harald Gruendl) will outline images and stories of a new way of life with which we can contribute to a ceasing of the exploitation of resources, a reduction of harmful emissions, and hence to a deactivation of the time bomb of climate change.

It is one of the most pressing environmental issues of our time: the contamination of our water bodies with nitrogen. Supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and initiated by Eawag, the renowned Viennese design studio EOOS, in cooperation with the company LAUFEN, developed the revolutionary prototype save!, a waste separation toilet providing a systemic design solution in the battle against the mostly disregarded global nitrogen problem. The contribution was awarded the “Ape Nera,” the “Black Bee Award” of the Triennale, as one of the best national contributions.
The design process and future scenarios of the “Toilet Revolution” will be discussed at the DESIGN NITE.
