For the “Hysterical Mining Artists’ Presentations” the discursive space at Kunsthalle Wien Karlsplatz will act as a platform to make visible practices that combine interests in feminism and technology. A number of invited artists, as well as some of the artists participating in the exhibition Hysterical Mining, will present their work, research, ideas and inspirations.

Kathrin Sturmreich (b. Innsbruck) works at the intersection of technology, new media, sound art and visual art. Her work attempts to decode and play with technological mechanisms of power and control, often by translating technological parameters and set of rules into sound or movement. She also explores coincidence, chaos and entropy in the material as well as social realm, and their political potential.
Sturmreich studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna (Digital Arts); the Royal Academy for Fine Arts in Antwerp (Fashion); the University of Vienna (Philosophy and Ethnology); and at the Academy for Physiotherapy in Innsbruck.
